Today, 35% of adults are bible believing Christians. Under this leadership, look at what today’s youth are facing… 65% of them state they don’t know which religion is the truth, 83% believe truth is relative. 50% of teens are no longer virgins with approximately one million teen pregnancies a year and 500,000 teen abortions annually. 40% of teens are experiencing self-inflicted injuries; teen suicide and murders are at an all time high.
Who is teaching the youth of today how to live? The answer … media and the MTV Network. Because of these networks, each teen will see approximately 14,000 sexual references a year. They will experience over 10,000 murders and rapes in a 6 month period. Each teen will have their mind renewed to a new definition of “family” and told that there is no God, everything is “relative”.
Xtreme Teens TV (XTV) is Covenant Partners’ answer to the MTV Networks. It is a show by teens, for teens. This program is designed to reach youth locally and around the world with the Gospel in a way that directly challenges the messages of the MTV Networks. Our teen show hosts are equipped to minister the truths of the Gospel supported by Christian music videos that speak wholesome lyrics and content.
Currently the program airs on several cable stations throughout New Jersey and upstate New York. Xtreme Teens TV will be enlarging its footprint in 2009/2010 through the expansion available through broadband and will deliver its programming over the Internet. There is no doubt that Xtreme Teens TV has the potential to change the lives of many youths, as it becomes known as “XTV - The Answer to MTV”.
We have also purposed to create synergy between BLT Radio and Xtreme Teens TV. XTV is “sponsored by” BLT Radio and therefore presents a package of alternative media for both Christian and non-Christian teens.
